homoljeA representative of Expeditio completed the 72-hour Permaculture design course that took place in Belgrade from March 29 to April 7 in cultural center Nea Pangea. The “72-hour PDC” (Permaculture Design Course) is an internationally standardized 10-day course that introduces the participants to the complex world of permaculture. This was the first course of this kind in Serbia, and it was organized by Earthship Serbia, ZMAG and Office for permaculture (Ured za permakulturu) together with cultural center Nea Pangea.

The “72-hour PDC” is also known as the elementary school of permaculture. It consists of a theoretical and a practical section, includes field work and it trains the participants to work independently on their own permaculture projects.

The first part of the course consisted of lectures that covered all the important topics related to various segments of permaculture (basic principles, soil, water, energy, construction, community...), while the last three days of the course were reserved for participants’ design work on their own projects. Courses of this type are recognized worldwide as a stepping stone to further permaculture design work.

The intensive 10-day course was lead by three instructors who are experienced permaculture designers from Croatia: Damir Šeler, Ivan Gregov (Ured za permakulturu) and Gordana Dragičević.
