Meeting of the Balkan Express Board was held in Ljubljana from March 21st till 22nd, 2014. Balkan Express is a platform that connects people interested in cooperation with, and within, the Balkan countries that are involved in contemporary art and complementary socially engaged practices.
Balkan Express project aims to create a platform that will help the arts sector to review its role in the changing context of economic, social and political crisis we are facing at the moment and to reconnect with other sectors looking for a renewed vision of our society and its future. Balkan Express is a partnership project that was conducted in collaboration with several organizations: Bunker Ljubljana, CUMA (Turkey), AltArt (Romania), IETM (International Network for Contemporary Performing Arts) and EXPEDITIO (Montenegro). It also involves a large informal network of professionals who were and still are involved in its activities.
