We invite you to the presentation on dry-stone masonry technique, which will be held on Tuesday, June 17th, 2014 at 18:00 at the Culture Center - Gornja Lastva. Lectures on buildings built in dry-stone masonry technique in the Mediterranean, and experiences in the field of protection, restoration and promotion of dry-stone masonry technique, will hold our guests from Slovenia and Croatia.

Borut Juvanec, architect, Ph.D., professor at the Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana.

Filip Bubalo, Udruga Dragodid, Vis

Dragodid Project is an initiative to study and practice national/folk architecture in our karst. The main activities are organization of the drystone masonry workshops and popularization of drystone masonry technique ...... Dragodid is a village of a few houses in the far northwest of the island Vis, situated about fifty minutes' walk from Komiza. There is no electricity or running water. Founded in the early 19th century from a poor peasant family Suic, which chosen for its residential hill next to their vineyards and fields. As the family expanded settlement grew, until the second half of the 20th century, when it was abandoned. Still, to this day, there are occasional residents, and still exist parts of the vineyards, and rosemary is harvested. In the village, occasionally for lunch, bowling and watching rare Eleonora's falcon (Falco eleonorae) come vacationers from Komiza.
