On April 13th 2015 applications for restoration camp on wooden windows are closed. EXPEDITIO in cooperation with CHwB (Cultural Heritage without Borders) invites all interested parties to apply for participation in the Work Camp on restoration of wooden windows, which will be held in Kotor, in the periodMay 04-06th 2015.

Restoration camp is organized within the project "Traditional materials and building techniques in Boka Kotorska" which is funded by the Headley Trust from the UK. The aim of this project is to increase knowledge and awareness of the use of traditional materials and building techniques in restoration in line with modern challenges (energy efficiency, modern standards and requirements, ...).

The use of traditional crafts, techniques and materials is one of the most important elements in the process of restoration and maintenance of the built heritage. The focus of this two-year project will be the restoration of traditional wooden windows and the use of lime mortar.

Restoration camp on wooden windows will be organized at the site in Kotor. Participants will have the opportunity to learn the basic principles of restoration and get trained to use techniques of restoration through the concrete work guided by the master who will lead the camp.

Restoration camp is designed for participants from the Western Balkans, to all who are interested in practical training on restoration of wooden windows. Preference will be those who will be able to apply further in their work the knowledge gained at the camp.

Costs of residance in Kotor (accommodation and food) will be covered, while travel expenses participants have to cover by themselves.

We invite all who are interested in participating in work camp to send us CV and motivation letter (max 300 words) in which they will explain the reasons for participation and how the knowledge gained at the camp can be appliable in their future work.
