On Tuesday, 26 April 2016, in Podgorica, in the library of the Historical Institute of the University of Montenegro was held the workshop titled "Mountain Cultural Heritage - Research, Evaluation and Promotion". The workshop was organized as part of the project “Evaluation of Montenegrin Summer Postures through the Sustainable Development of Agriculture and Tourism – KATUN”.
The main idea of the project is to create a knowledge base for multipurpose use of Montenegrin mountain resources, combining traditional agriculture with the growing tourist activities and the protection of cultural properties of summer pastures - the uniqueness of Montenegro.
The project is implemented by Biotechnical Faculty, Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management from Kotor and the Historical Institute of Montenegro, together with two companies and with the support of partner institutions from the EU.
The focus of this workshop was the field of protection of cultural heritage as well as project task that includes listing of all the living and abandoned pastures on Kuci mountains, their classification, characterization and cadastre; analysis of their origin, historical and social background, as well as assessment of their cultural and historical value.
