This is a first textbook in Montenegro about architectural and construction standards on adapting physical environment to the needs of persons with disabilities. The textbook was published within the project "Spaces without Barriers," funded by the Parliamentary Assembly of Montenegro within an annual fund-awarding competition for non-governmental organizations in 2006. icon Osobe umanjenih tjelesnih sposobnosti i arhitektonske barijere (4.51 MB)
The Faculty of Architecture from Sarajevo first published the textbook “Persons with Disabilities and Architectural Barriers” in 2001 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the non-governmental organization “Lotos” from Tuzla. The author of the textbook is Professor Ph. D. Emir Fejzic.

The textbook contains concrete guidelines on adapting physical environment – i.e., sloping areas, exit/entrance ramps, elevators, etc. — and will be used as practical reference book. With publishing this textbook, we want to promote among the wider public the idea that the physical environment should be made accessible to all people. At the same time, experts in this field will be provided with useful guidelines that can be applied in practice.
