In 2009, Expeditio will celebrate its 12th anniversary. Each of these past 12 years, including 2008, has been a great challenge for our organization.

During 2008, we carried out various projects that started in 2007 and also wrote proposals for new projects.

Some of these proposals were approved during 2008, some were not that successful, and for some we are still waiting for the results. An increasing number of our projects is focusing on energy efficiency in construction, although we continue dealing with cultural heritage, spatial planning and sustainable development in general.

During 2008 we established some new partnerships and presented our organization at various events taking place in the countries of the region, EU or worldwide. We attended trainings and other educational programmes which, in our opinion, will be useful for us in the realization of new projects from the EU funds. Because of that, in the coming period we are planning to intensify our contacts with the organizations from the region which deal with the similar topics as we do.

During 2008 we enhanced our cooperation with the state institutions because we believed that in that way our activities would have better results. However, through that cooperation we also wanted to assist these institutions in fulfilling their obligations in the process of EU integration. One of the very important activities within that cooperation is our continued membership in the National Council for Sustainable Development as an important advisory body of the Government of Montenegro.

In 2009 we want to concentrate on our organization’s capacity strengthening and we also want to ensure as effective engagement as possible in our activities of our numerous collaborators and members. We are aware of the great human potential existing in the region and we would like to contribute that it is used in a way which brings about positive changes when the space protection is concerned.

We want to extend our cordial thanks to all those who follow our activities and support us in various ways – through membership in our organization, by cooperating with us, promoting our activities or providing their financial support.
