EXPEDITIO has published a Map of the Cultural and Natural Heritage of Boka Kotorska. The map shows the whole area of the bay of Boka Kotorska and lists the most important cultural and natural monuments throughout the territories of the three municipalities in Boka Kotorska – Kotor, Tivat and Herceg Novi. The map was created as one of the three pilot-projects within the project “INTER-MUNICIPAL COOPERATION IN MONTENEGRO: Promoting inter-municipal initiatives in the sub-region of Kotor Bay”. The project was conducted by EXPEDITIO in cooperation with SNV Montenegro – Netherlands Development Agency and the municipalities of Kotor, Tivat and Herceg Novi. It was financed by the Royal Embassy of the Netherlands in Belgrade.
The map is two-sided. Side one shows the map of Boka Kotorska with the most important cultural properties, while side two depicts the most important areas (vertical projection). The drawing of the most important cultural monuments and basic information about them are inset on the map.
The map was printed in 5000 copies. Of that, the municipalities of Kotor, Tivat and Herceg Novi were given 1500 copies each, while the rest will be used by Expeditio and SNV for promotional purposes. In addition to the map, the municipalities will be given a complete graphic design preparation for the map, which will enable them to reprint it in the future according to need.
EXPEDITIO is a non-governmental organization whose mission is to encourage sustainable spatial development in Montenegro and SEE region through activity in the fields of sustainable architecture, cultural heritage, urban planning and through projects that encourage overall development of the civil society. Expeditio was established in 1997.
