Biljana Gligoric, Vice President of the Council for Sustainable Development and representative of NGO Expeditio, chaired the 24th session of the National Council for Sustainable Development, held on June 1, 2012. The session was an opportunity to discuss a draft expert document that is to form the basis of the Platform for the presentation of Montenegro at the Third World Summit on Sustainable Development (the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development - Rio+20), and a draft of the Fourth annual report on the implementation of the National Strategy for Sustainable Development during the period  January 1 - December 31, 2011.

The Council was acquainted with the composition of the delegation that is going to represent Montenegro at the Rio+20 Conference. The delegation, to be led by the Prime Minister Igor Lukšić, will include the Minister of Finance, Milorad Katnić, given that one of the key themes of the Summit, recommended by the Rio+20 Secretariat, is a green economy in the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication. In accordance with the conclusions and recommendations of the previous two summits to include representatives of the NGO and business sector in national delegations, the Montenegrin delagation will also comprise representatives of the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro and three non-governmental organizations dealing with the issues contained within the three pillars of sustainable development.
