Participation at the first meeting of the Local Committee of NGO Coalition “Through Cooperation to the Aim”, Kotor

On 11 December 2012, a meeting of the Local Committee of NGO Coalition “Through Cooperation to the Aim” was held in Kotor. The aims of the Coalition are to:

Improve the framework for the development and operation of NGO sector in Montenegro.
Improve relations with the Government of Montenegro, local governments, the Parliament of Montenegro and business sector.
Increase the visibility of work and financial visibility of NGO sector.

At its Assembly, held on 7 July 2012 and attended by 151 representatives of NGOs from all municipalities in Montenegro, the Coalition adopted a new Statute and localized its work through Local Committees, giving thereby the opportunity and responsibility to NGOs themselves to identify priorities at the level of their municipalities and implement activities that can improve cooperation with the local authorities and enhance the funding of NGO activities at the local level. The Statute also established a new governing structure for the Coalition, which implies a Steering Committee composed of 47 members from all the municipalities.

At the meeting in Kotor the aims of the Coalition and its results achieved so far were presented, and two representatives of NGOs from Kotor were elected as members of the Coalition’s Steering Committee.

Expeditio officially joined the Coalition “Through Cooperation to the Aim” and our representative attended the meeting in Kotor.
