EXPEDITIO was a member of the working team that conducted a “Conservation study of the built heritage of Kostanjica”. The study was ordered by the Municipality of Kotor and it will be used for the purpose of amending and supplementing a detailed urban plan of Kostanjica. The Faculty of Architecture in Podgorica was in charge of conducting the study. The working team was lead by Ilija Lalosevic, docent Ph. D., B.Sc. Arch. Eng., and it consisted of Jelena Franovic, B. Sc. Landscape architect, as well as Aleksandra Kapetanovic, B. Sc. Arch. Eng. and Biljana Gligoric, B. Sc. Arch. Eng. from EXPEDITIO.

In order to increase the visual harmony of the Old Town ambience, the Agency for the construction and development of Herceg Novi has commissioned EXPEDITIO to design a study that will propose solutions for street furniture and visual communications for the western suburb area of Herceg Novi. The aim of the study is to make the Old Town ambience more attractive through standardizing the elements of street furniture.

June 21st-23rd marked an exceptional meeting of cultural heritage NGOs working in the South-East European region. Representatives hailing from 11 NGOs – Albanian National Trust, Butrint Foundation/Albanian Heritage Centre, and MJAFT! Movement from Albania; Cultural Heritage without Borders, Regional Office from Bosnia Herzegovina; PRO TORPEDO from Croatia; EC MA NDRYSHE from Kosovo; Centre for Cultural Heritage Projektor, EXPEDITIO Centre for Sustainable Spatial Development and Notar Centre for Preservation and Promotion of Kotor Documentary Heritage from Montenegro; and FRACTAL and Civic and Association SUBURBIUM from Serbia– arrived in Berat, Albania on Saturday to kick off the fifth SEE (South-East European) Heritage Network meeting. The goal of this conference was to discuss how these organizations, through the further development of the network, could jointly contribute to the preservation and promotion of the region’s rich cultural heritage as a tool for sustainable and responsible development.

The SEE Heritage is a network of cultural heritage NGOs working in the South-East European region. The SEE Heritage network aims to raise awareness about different issues and problems concerning the cultural heritage in the region. The network members are 13 partner NGOs from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Croatia.

Enclosed you will find a copy of the letter that nongovernmental organizations EXPEDITIO and MANS sent today to UNESCO in reference with the interventions in the settlement of Lipci situated in the Bay of Boka Kotorska. We thought it very important to inform UNESCO considering that these interventions cause serious devastation of the cultural landscape within the area inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
