The monitoring of the National Spatial Plan drafting, aimed in adopting a quality Spatial Plan of Montenegro compatible with European standards in the field of spatial planning, has been conducted by seven Montenegrin non-governmental organizations (MANS, Green Home, Centre for protection and study of birds, Breznica, Natura, Monitoring Group Ulcinj – MOGUL and EXPEDITIO) which considered the Draft Spatial Plant from different aspects. In this process, EXPEDITIO has focused on testing of the compatibility of the Draft Spatial Plan with the main EU document in the field of spatial planning, i.e. ESDP (European Spatial Development Perspective), as well as on treatment of cultural heritage and landscape.
Drawing up of the National Spatial Plan of Montenegro is of extreme importance for the future of Montenegro, and it is very important that the Plan recognizes and treats cultural heritage and landscape in an adequate way.
EXPEDITIO is a non-governmental organization whose mission is to encourage sustainable spatial development in Montenegro and SEE region through activity in the fields of sustainable architecture, cultural heritage, urban planning and through projects that encourage overall development of the civil society. Expeditio was established in 1997.
