posterWe invite you to participate in the workshop “Mountain Cultural Heritage-Kučka Korita”/ “Traditional dry stone masonry technique”, which will be held in Kučka Korita, on 28 September 2016, beginning at 11 a.m. The workshop, organized in the framework of European Heritage Days, is part of the project “’Valorizing the Montenegrin Katuns through sustainable development of agriculture and tourism - KATUN”.

The European Heritage Days (EHDs) are the event that takes place in September in the 50 countries party to the European Cultural Convention. The event was launched by the Council of Europe in cooperation with the European Commission in order to allow Europe’s citizens to learn about their shared cultural heritage. The European Heritage Days include the organization of national events that focus on a common topic selected at the European level. This year’s topic is “Cultural Heritage and Local Communities”. The Ministry of Culture of Montenegro, in cooperation with local and national cultural heritage institutions, has joined this international initiative for the ninth year now. The workshop of KATUN project is part of the EHDs event that will take place in Montenegro from 26 to 30 September 2016.

The workshop “Mountain Cultural Heritage - Kučka Korita” will start at 11 o'clock, in the restaurant “Stara kuća” in Kučka Korita, with the presentation of the KATUN project and results of field work on Kuči Mountains, and the tasting of local products from katuns (cream and cheese from Kuči, ... ).

At 12 o'clock participants will be invited to attend the workshop “Traditionally dry stone masonry technique”, which will be held in Građen katun. The aim of this workshop is to familiarize and train participants with the stone building techniques „in dry“. Training is done through practical work remodeling the collapsed walls of cottage (glada) or corrals (torine). The workshop will be held by expert in dry stone technique and by local master building, and it is intended for citizens interested in practical training in dry-stone masonry technique, students, representatives of institutions in the fields of cultural heritage.

We invite all the interested participants to take part in the workshop. Gathering is at 11 a.m. in Kučka Korita, in the restaurant “Stara kuća”.
