SolilaThe Public Enterprise for Coastal Zone Management organized a presentation of the results of two Studies on Tivat Salinas carried out during 2017: “Regulation of Watercourses and Channels in the Tivat Salinas Special Reserve” undertaken by “IS Projekt” from Ljubljana and “Protection of Cultural Heritage in Tivat Salinas Special Reserve” conducted by “Expeditio Architects” from Kotor. The presentation was held at the Municipality of Tivat, on Thursday, 6 July 2017 at 10 a.m..

The Study “Regulation of Watercourses and Channels in the Tivat Salinas Special Reserve” encompasses the results and proposes solutions and measures leading to a betted hydrological regime in the area of this reserve. The Study was presented by Andrej Sovinc, PhD, from “IS Projekt” d.o.o. Ljubljana, who was engaged, through a public tender invited by the Public Enterprise for Coastal Zone Management, to develop the study.

Historical development of Tivat Salinas and guidelines and measures for the area’s cultural heritage protection have been described in detail for the first time in the Study “Protection of Cultural Heritage in Tivat Salinas Special Reserve”. The Study was presented by Aleksandra Kapetanović, conservation architect, from “Expeditio Architects” d.o.o. Kotor and Milena Vrzić, archaeologist.

The studies were produced with the aim of enhancing and protecting the special reserve and they will form the basis for developing a Management plan of the Tivat Salinas special reserve. The reserve acquired this status in 2008. In 2014, in accordance with the Law on Nature Protection, its management was entrusted to the Public Enterprise for Coastal Zone Management.
